Legal Basics for Small Business Owners

Kae will walk through a simple roadmap of key legal steps for new entrepreneurs, including picking and protecting a legally strong business name, obtaining business licenses and permits and navigating taxes. You'll learn the difference between what's "required" versus what's "recommended" from a lawyer's perspective, as well as the basics of legal compliance, risk assessment, and legal protection of your business and personal assets.

Kae is a business lawyer, author, and educator in the entrepreneurship space. Kae has dedicated over 8 years to helping inventors and entrepreneurs both protect their intellectual property and strategize the "next steps" for making the business dream a reality. After becoming a mama, Kae spent much of her maternity leave jotting down the details of what would eventually become her interactive guided workbook for new small business owners, called "Idea to Launch". Her legal expertise stems from time spent both as outside counsel and in-house handling matters from IP protection and commercialization to regulatory compliance and due diligence. Through her Instagram and Tik Tok platforms, Kae continues to focus on providing free education content to help small business owners understand key legal steps for starting and scaling their small businesses....the legal way(TM).
