Kimberlee Barrellla holds her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She is pursuing her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Kent State University. Kim teaches counseling skills, appraisal instruments, and mental health issues across the lifespan to undergraduate and master’s counseling students at Youngstown State University and Kent State University. Her research interests include humanistic counseling approaches, LGBTQ+ issues in counseling, and community outreach.
Kim co-owns a small mental health practice in Cuyahoga Falls called Navigate Counseling and Consultation Services. While Navigate celebrates all identities, they provide a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals, relationships, and families. In addition to personal counseling services, Navigate offers training opportunities for local professionals who are eager to learn more about various mental health topics and skills to implement into their work. They strive to be fierce advocates and empathic allies in everything they do across their work with clients and the larger community.
She is originally from Youngstown but is determined to put down roots in Cuyahoga Falls. And whenever Kim isn’t getting her hands into something academic or mental health related, she can be found hiking the beautiful trails our community has to offer, sipping margaritas around town, or hanging out with her ragdoll kitten, Pearl.
